Part Time Co-Op

Where Ohio State Talent Meets Real World Innovation  

The Center for Software Innovation Part-Time Co-Op Program connects Ohio State students with startups and innovation-driven companies working on real product, engineering, and go-to-market challenges.

Through paid, part-time roles during the academic semester, students contribute to meaningful projects while gaining hands-on experience alongside founders, engineers, and operators, and companies gain access to motivated talent ready to support real work.

Intro to Software Startups

A project‑driven course for future founders, engineers, builders, and operators.

Overview: Intro to Software Startups is a practical, immersive elective. The course trains students to work effectively in, or build, modern software startups, blending technical skills, product education and entrepreneurial strategy.

IBE-SI

The Integrated Business and Engineering - Software Innovation (IBE-SI) track empowers future innovators with the interdisciplinary skills required in today’s digital economy. Developed jointly by the Fisher College of Business and the College of Engineering, the program gives students a more immersive and experiential path into software‑driven careers.

Built for tomorrow’s digital leaders. Graduates leave prepared to:

  • Launch software-enabled products
  • Operate across technical and business teams
  • Lead in innovation‑focused organizations
  • Make informed decisions backed by both data and market insight

HackOHI/O

HackOHl/O fosters a tech culture at Ohio State and its surrounding communities, ultimately providing students the opportunity to learn and build with real technologies outside of the classroom. Through the platform, HackOHl/O better connects students to real world problems and opportunities by engaging with the community and industry partners.

Third Coast Foundry

Third Coast Foundry is being driven by the entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization centers across the partner institutions, including the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship and the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University; Northwestern Innovation + New Ventures (INVO); Center for Software Innovation at The Ohio State University; Purdue Innovates; UChicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; U of I’s Technology Entrepreneur Center and Origin Ventures Office of Entrepreneurship; Wisconsin Entrepreneurship Hub and Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF); along with WashU.

Together, these centers bring deep experience in startup formation, technology commercialization, and venture engagement to support founders and strengthen cross-institutional collaboration through Third Coast Foundry.

At its core, Third Coast Foundry is a bridge between Midwest innovation and coastal capital.
