Events & Meetups

We believe innovation and growth is fueled by connection, which is why the Center for Software Innovation puts on several events to engage with students, faculty, Ohio State staff and the broader tech community in the region. These include:

  • Construct I/O: The Builder's Summit: Construct I/O is our annual digital tech conference for the technical and non-technical alike. Here, attendees find big-picture talks and perspectives from leaders in the tech industry, plus hands-on workshops and practical go-to-market sessions from builders in the tech community. Registration for our Fall 2025 conference will open in Summer 2025.
  • Weekly Dig Ins: At Dig Ins, short for "digital innovation," attendees can network with other digital builders in the community, refine skills in tech, and get exposure to career learnings from those working in industry. These are casual meetups - no RSVP needed to attend!
  • AI Tinkerers - Columbus: AI Tinkerers is a global program of local meetups designed for those actively building with AI, particularly those working with large language models and generative AI. Here, you'll connect with fellow innovators, showcase your projects during our demo session, and gain insights from industry experts. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a dedicated community of builders shaping the future with AI.

Commercialization and Entrepreneurship Center

The Center for Software Innovation will eventually occupy 38,000 square feet in the top two floors of the Commercialization and Entrepreneurship Center, a five-story, approximately 120,000-square-food multitenant building support research and technology uses.

Situated near the Pelotonia Research Center and Energy Advancement and Innovation Center, the development of the Center for Software Innovation’s new home will add momentum in the burgeoning Carmenton district.

Carmenton is home to more than $900 million of public and private support and more than 350 acres of land re-imagined for development, which includes:

  • The Pelotonia Research Center, a state-of-the-art laboratory building where researchers collaborate across disciplines.
  • The James Outpatient Care, which houses Central Ohio’s first proton therapy treatment, in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
  • The Energy Advancement and Innovation Center, dedicated to bringing smart and sustainable energy systems research and other innovations to market, in partnership with ENGIE.
